Studio Policies and Fees
Fees
Fees are flat monthly rates due on the 1st of each month. Fees cover 36 scheduled lessons per school year - September 1 to June 30. see: Summer Lessons for July/August payments. 2024-25 RATES: $200/mth 45min lessons $175/mth 30min lessons
Tuition pays for teaching time and studio expenses including, license fees, instrument maintenance, researching/purchasing supplemental music materials, professional development, recital costs, technology.
Student Home Materials (SHMs) and Technology (ebooks, online videos, audio)
Simply Music students are required to regularly access their SHMs.
Only one purchase of any SHM product is required per family.
Additional special interest pieces purchased by teacher on student's behalf may be invoiced separately.
Attendance
Illness
Please do not come if you and/or student are ill or have any symptoms
When you sign up for piano lessons, you are reserving a weekly time slot that will not be filled by other students. Therefore, regular attendance is expected. Parents are required to attend lessons with student(s) under age. See Roles and Responsibilities.
Missed Lessons
If you must miss a lesson for any reason, contact me as soon as possible by email: maplekeyspiano@gmail.com and/or text 289-314-0777
A makeup lesson is not guaranteed.
If a makeup lesson is possible, students will be given maximum 4 makeup lessons from Sep-Jun of the current year. No refund or credit will be issued for missed lessons.
Inclement Weather
Check your email or text messages regularly for weather-related announcements.
Summer Lessons
Lessons are taught year-round. However, we all need holidays and as a courtesy to families, I offer summer flexibility. Students who take more than 3 weeks vacation in a row will be considered taking Extended Leave. (see below) For summer flexibility, students can reduce the monthly fees up to a maximum 4 lessons from July1-August31. Students who continue lessons through the summer will have priority in choosing fall lesson times. Typically, I will take 1 or 2 weeks summer vacation where no fees are charged.
